Friends and Flowers (05/26/14)

Good Morning!  It's Memorial Day here in the United States and a day off to honor those who have served and died in our military.  While my card isn't red, white and blue, I think my sentiment fits the bill.  For today's Friends of Speedy TV challenge, the theme is flowers.  I dug into my stash of Mark's Finest Papers stamps and found this wonderful daisy from Oopsy Daisy.  I used Marsh Silhouettes for my sentiment.

As always, Mark's Finest Papers is generously offering a mini stamp set to one lucky participant.  This week the stamps set is Year of the Horse.  Take a look at it!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Friends and Gift Bags (05/19/14)

Good Monday morning!  It's time for another Friends of Speedy TV challenge and this week we are making gift bags.  I call this one my Silver Lining Bag and Tag!  This gift bag was quite simple to make, so much so that I will never need to purchase another small gift bag.  This bag is 3.5" by 5" and would fit a small treat or a gift card quite handily!  Perhaps I should have printed on the tag, To: Sweet Pea, From: Mom.  Today is my daughter's 8th birthday, so this project is quite timely.  We had birthday party on Saturday and have heaps of cupcakes left over.  Unfortunately, there are rules against taking home baked goods to school for her classmates.  Off they go to decorate the staff room at Mom's school.
I wish you all a wonderful day and following week.  Thanks for stopping by!

Details - Stamps: Rain Clouds (MFP), Holiday Tags (MFP); Paper: Whisper White; Ink: London Fog; Accessories: Copic Markers, Scor-Buddy, Scor-Tape, White eyelets, Crop-a-dile, silver cording, white grosgrain, paper snips.

How about this, huh?  I was feeling a bit abstract and colored my iris and butterflies all in gray.  A little pointillism and the touch of a Clear Star gel pen pumps this number up!  This is a beautiful flower and I can't wait to try it in purple!

I know, I know...the set is called Tiger Lily and I colored my lily like a Stargazer Lily!  They just smell like heaven and my MIL grows the most beautiful Stargazer Lilies.  I adore them!  This was my first attempt and I can already tell that I will be stamping and coloring this one again!
Yippee!  We have another day with frogs.  I love frogs, they are so much fun!  I had to get a little creative and let this guy peek out at you!  When I looked up tree frogs, I saw so many red eyed tree frogs so I made sure to get some red on this card!

I think my bubble inspired card was driven by tonight's basketball game.  My daughter and I went to cheer on our school district staff against the rival town's staff in a game to support the local Cancer Care Center in our community!  It was a good game, loads of fun with student's coaching and officiating while staff played!  Fortune was on our side tonight as our school district won.  I took my daughter out for sundaes to celebrate that and the fact that she has earned a student of the month honor for the character trait of being a hard worker!  I'm bursting my bubbles buttons with pride!  Now, if we could just get that hard work at home too.

Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to come on back tomorrow for a bit more creativity.  Off you go to visit Janine

We'll start things off today with a card featuring Plywood.  I stamped the plywood background on the caramel color and also on vanilla.  I trimmed out my DAD sentiment and sponged the edges.  I "nailed down" my plywood with a couple of brads and finished of my panel with the father's day sentiment.

And now for a sample from Kiss Me.  This is a fun little mini set with heaps of great sentiments to go along with this frog.  This little guy is crawling out of the water and has just barely got a grip on his log...thus the "Hang on tight!" sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to come on back tomorrow for a bit more creativity.  Off you go to visit Janine

Friends and Red and Kraft (05/12/14)

Good Monday Morning and a very Happy Mother's Day to all who may have celebrated yesterday!  My Mother's Day was simple and sweet!  I wore my new necklace that my 7 year old made me, watched as my husband and daughter washed my car and then fixed dinner for my own mother!  The sun shined all day and I didn't put on a coat until about 7:30 p.m.  Today's card is for the Friends of Speedy TV challenge to make a card with Kraft and Red.  I found this delightful tomato and away I went!  Many others are enamored with kraft, but not so much for me.  I compensated by using large amount of white and black (we can always use neutrals, right?).
Let's not forget that Mark's Finest Papers offers a free stamp set to one lucky participant.  This week USA Heroes is the chosen stamp set.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Details - Stamps: Seed Packets (MFP); Paper: Choice Snow White, Black Licorice, Crumb Cake; Ink: Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Copic Markers, Touch Twin Markers, stampin' dimensionals, scalloped border punch, washi tape.

Friends and Congratulations (05/05/14)

Yikes!  I'll have to definitely call this one better late than never.  This card is for the Friends of Speedy TV challenge to create a Congratulations card.  This card should have been easy with graduation around the corner, but I struggled.  I opted for the cattail silhouette from Marsh Silhouettes.  First, I created my sun ray background and then stamped my silhouettes over it.  Finally, I finished with sentiment stamping over the top of the whole thing.

Mark's Finest Papers always offers a free stamp set for one lucky participant.  This week, the stamp set is Year of the Horse.
Details - Stamps: Marsh Silhouettes (MFP), Now Showing (MFP); Paper: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake; Ink: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight; Accessories: sponge dauber, masking paper.
