Friends and Pink and Brown

Hello friends!  It is the weekend and the perfect time to play along with the current Friends of Speedy TV challenge.  This week's challenge is to use pink and brown on your project.  At first it stumped me a little bit, so I turned to my inspiration source, Pinterest.  I found loads of ideas and my card came very quickly.  I nabbed the cherry blossom and the print for the background from Works of Art.  I took my sentiment from Calm and Wisdom.  I'm not sure where my design came from, but it certainly fits with my clean and simple style.  It needed a bit more punch after I had it all assembled, so I added some Stardust Stickles to the flower centers.

I'm off to see what others have done with this fun challenge!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Friends and Diamond Fold Cards (02/16/15)

Welcome back friends!  It's time for another Friends of Speedy TV challenge.  This week we have a fun fold for you to try.  This is a Diamond Fold card and it's deceptively simple.  I was inspired to make this card by my daughter's teacher.  He and his wife just had their first child last week.  He's been very excited about the arrival of his son and now he is getting his very first taste of parenting.  I work at the school with him, so I feel comfortable teasing him about his "new job".  I really shouldn't say new job because it really is more like a second job.  All parents know this.

Be sure to join in on the challenge and maybe you can be the Speedy TV Pick of the Week and get yourself a fabulous discount too!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Details - Stamps: Zoo Friends (MFP), Bundle of Joy (MFP); Paper: Handsome Hunter, Very Vanilla, Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday dp; Ink:  Espresso Truffle, London Fog; Accessories: Scor-Pal, Copic Markers, stampin' dimensionals, Copic Multiliners.

Friends and Die Cuts/Punches

Good Morning!  I'm back with another Friends of Speedy TV challenge.  This week we are using Die Cuts or Punches.  I brought out a load of my circle punches to make my "cheese".  With those circle punches, my Scor-Buddy and some sponge daubers I decorated my cheeses.  Thanks again to my work in Kindergarten, I had an idea about creating this dimensional shape.  You see, we are learning those shape names and practicing drawing them on white boards during math time.  Anyhow, I created my cheese, stamped and colored my mouse and then stamped my sentiment.

I added a few other touches, like embossing the card base and rounding one corner and I was done!

Won't you consider playing along with us?  I know I use die cuts all the time!  If you do and you are selected as the winner, you will earn a lovely discount and a guest designer position.  How fun is that?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Details - Stamps: Yikes a Mouse (MFP); Paper: Snow Storm Smooth (MFP), Barely Banana; Ink: Barely Banana, Espresso Truffle; Accessories: Canvas & Linen impression plate (PTI), circle punches, crop-a-dile, sponge dauber, corner chomper, Copic Markers, Scor-Buddy, stampin' dimensionals.

Friends and Romance (02/02/15)

Good Morning!  It's Monday and it's time for the next Friends of Speedy TV challenge!  With Valentine's Day fast approaching, our challenge is all about Romance.  What's more romantic than a rose and the sentiment "I love you"?  I think nothing could be more romantic.  I have topped out here for me.

For my card, I grabbed my stamp set called Roses and went to work.  I opted to use the latest Retro Sketches sketch and then stamped my sentiment across the bottom of the tag in the sketch.  To create a little upward movement in my design, I stamped the stemmed rose partially off the right hand side of my tag.  Some sequins and a burlap twine bow finish the card off for me.

Won't you play along with us?  The prize is quite enticing...a guest designer position and a shopping discount!  I love it!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Details - Stamps: Roses (MFP); Paper: MME Heirloom dp; Ink: Tuxedo Black, London Fog; Accessories: Copic Markers, Sequins, glue pen, May Arts burlap twine, hole punch.

More Than One Score - Trifecta!

Hello there Crafty Friends!  It's a good day in my house.  I have a fun and fabulous trifecta today.  It begins with the latest Scor-Pal More Than One Score challenge called Hearts A Flutter.  Katie has perfect timing, of course, with Valentine's Day just around the corner.  We have a new design team member on the Scor-Pal team too.  Be sure to check out the work of Lois Bak!  If you visit here often, you will know her wonderful work.

My project for today is a Valentine's Gable Box, all ready to be filled with a special treat for your loved one! The one thing I love most about this gable box is that you make it from one single sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" paper.  I only used a handful of tools to get the job done and it was quick.
I embellished my gable box with a band of ribbon and a paper trim.  Seriously, Scor-Tape is the best for adhering ribbon to everything.  Then I created a little rosette to showcase my sparkling heart!

In case you are still hanging on to find out the other two pieces of my trifecta, here it is: Today is Superbowl Sunday with my beloved Seahawks in the running and also my 13th wedding anniversary!  Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day.
