Ways to Use Tea or T

This week's Ways To Use It challenge is being hosted by Sabrina this week and she has challenged us to use "tea" or "T" on our card.  My last post also brought you a pink creation, so you could correctly guess that this was an item that went into the "tickled pink" basket for our school secretary.

I don't know about you, but I always misjudge the size of this darling pillow box die.  I always think it is bigger than it really is.  Anyhoo, I painted a paper doily with my brewed tea and then let it dry.  While it was drying, I embossed my card stock and then brayed some Versamark over the top.  I was going for a soft look, so I thought tone on tone would do it.

I embellished with half of a doily, burlap twine and a die cut 11 medallion to fit my sentiment. I had to get creative and stamp it on the other half of the tea dyed doily.  Then I trimmed it to fit my pillow box.

Thanks for looking!

Details - Stamps: Perfect Words (SU); Paper: Blushing Bride; Ink: Soft Suede, Versamark; Accessories: tea, paper doily (SRM), May Arts burlap twine, Spellbinder circle nestabilities, pillow box die (SU), fluttering embossing folder, brayer, Scor-tape, glue dot.

Scor-Pal is "Pinspired"!

Hello Crafty Friends!  Our fearless team leader, Katie, has come up with a fabulous new feature for the Scor-Pal blog.  We are going to be "Pinspired" or inspired by something on the Scor-Pal Pinterest Board. Scor-Pal Design Team members will take turns updating, tweaking and sharing the tutorial once a month.
I get to kick off the new feature with my Wine Bottle Box.  I found this gem on Crafty Caroline Creates.  I made my own version for the March Anything Goes challenge.  Then I wrote out the tutorial HERE.  I have said it before and I will say it again, "I will never buy a wine bottle bag again".  I was able to crank out a couple of these babies as gift packaging for two of my friend's birthdays.  A wine bottle packaged like this paired with a nice plant makes an impressive gift.
Now, for something new! (I always try to give you something new, just in case you may have seen these posts before).  This week is Administrative Assistant Appreciation week at my school.  One of our teacher's organized a "We are tickled PINK to have you basket" and asked all staff to contribute something pink.  I snagged one of my old pins and made another flat backed treat box to house the pink grapefruit chapstick I bought.
Thanks for visiting!  Have a great day!

Details - Stamps: Cute-a-tude(MFT), Perfect Words (SU); Paper: Whisper White, Pebbles wood grain dsp; Ink: Tuxedo Black, Pink Pirouette; Accessories: Scor-Pal, Scor-Tape; Spellbinders wonky rectangles, sponge dauber, paper snips, Sakura clear star gel pen, Heart to Heart punch, corner chomper, Copic markers, Spica Atyou gel pens, stampin' dimensionals.

Friends of Flourishes, Layers and Layers

Hello and Happy Saturday! This week’s Friends of Flourishes theme is Layers and Layers.  I have nine layers, to be exact!  Our hostess, Kren, dreamed up this lovely challenge.  I went off grid a bit and made an A2 card box with the beautiful Flourishes, lc. set called Endearing Rose.
Here you have the top view of my box. This is my box lid and I have embellished it with a pair of birds.  I got a bit technique-y and colored three images to pop up some of the greenery, the male bird and then the flower to the right of the male.
The side view allows you to see all the layers and how I popped up a few of the pieces of my bird image.

The rest of my team has created beautiful projects for your viewing pleasure.  Be sure to visit them:  Davi, GloriaKrenShirleyToni (you are here) and Vickie.  While you are visiting, you might also want to see the other stamp sets available from Flourishes, lc.  Thanks for stopping by!

Edited to add:  I also made this for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  I love making these boxes and have a tutorial for one on my blog.  You can find it here.

Friends of Flourishes, Anything Goes

Hello and Happy Saturday! This week’s Friends of Flourishes theme is an Anything Goes theme.  Of course, this kind of theme gives you the chance to make whatever you need in the moment.  I happen to need one more Easter card!  Flourishes, lc. has just released some darling Easter sets, so I went ahead and used them!
This week's Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoaststampers is about eggs and an egg hunt.  That got me thinking and this is the card I dreamed up in my head.  I used both of the Vintage Easter and So This Is Easter sets recently released by Flourishes.  Both of these sets are available as a digital download and as a photopolymer stamp set.

Dreams Kept

Oh boy, this was one of the last cards I made for VSN, Virtual Stamp Night, this go round!  I finished all the challenges last night.  I can't remember if I have ever done that and I'm pretty proud.  Of course, the timing of VSN was perfect for me.  VSN kicked off on the Friday that my Spring Break started, so I didn't have to work at all.

This card was made for Brenda's challenge to be inspired by the lyrics of Audition: The Fools Who Dream, a song from La La Land.  There was plenty to work with in the lyrics of the song.  I pulled from the chorus for my own card.   Since VSN challenges are time limited (projects must be completed in less than an hour), I used a Mojo Monday sketch.
I've got one day left of my Spring Break, so I guess I will use that to get myself organized and ready to go back to school.  It's the big push to the end of the school year, filled with state testing and field trips! Have a wonderful finish to your weekend.

Details - Stamps: Blue Skies (Verve); Paper: MME In Bloom dp, DCWV La Creme; Ink: Tuxedo Black, Basic Gray, Crumb Cake; Accessories:Circle punch, circle die, Scor-Tape, SEI Mia Bella trim, Sakura clear star gel pen, Copic Markers, stampin' dimensionals, sponge dauber.

Friends of Flourishes, Purple and Green

Hello and Happy Saturday! My team member, Davi, brings you this week’s Friends of Flourishes theme. This week's challenge is about a color combination, purple and green.  I don't know if Davi knew it or not, but those are my two favorite colors.
When my mother was in the hospital, several weeks ago, I took stamped images and colored them.  This beautiful rose from the set named Endearing Rose has been sitting on my desk waiting for the right card. Davi's challenge presented just the right call for this image!
The rest of my team has created beautiful projects for your viewing pleasure.  Be sure to visit them:  Davi, GloriaKrenShirleyToni (you are here) and Vickie.  While you are visiting, you might also want to see the six newly released stamp sets from Flourishes, lc. offered this week.  Thanks for stopping by!

Today is Day 6 of the Flourishes lc March/April release.  I am featuring the set called Easter Bunnies.
What a fun image to color!  I was sitting in the ski lodge waiting on my husband and daughter, so I really took my time on this one. A skier in the lodge approached me and asked if I had drawn the image.  I could not take credit. Lauren Pope illustrated this lovely set.

So This Is Easter - Flourishes lc March/April Release

Today is Day 5 of the Flourishes lc March/April release.  I am featuring the set called So This Is Easter.

I'm sure you have seen some of the main images from So This Is Easter by now, if you have traveled down the design team list.  I wanted to work with a smaller image from the set.  I stamped the plain egg multiple times here to create my Easter wreath.  Then I used some more luscious silk ribbon from Flourishes for my bows. Finally, I stamped a punny sentiment from Wednesday's featured set called Vintage Easter.
Be sure to visit the other Friends of Flourishes design team members for more inspiration:DaviGloriaKrenShirleyToni (YOU ARE HERE) and Vickie.

Ways To Use Tape!

I am hosting today's Ways To Use It challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  I have challenged crafters to use tape on their projects.  There are loads of different kinds of tape to use and then there are many, many techniques to do with tape as well.  I looked and looked for the packing tape transfer technique, but I couldn't find it. I'm guessing that I will have to delve into older VSN challenges to find it.

For today's card, I used washi tape.  I made a little banner with baker's twine and some folded washi.  (Full disclosure: Folding the tape was a little fussy work.  However, washi tape is pretty forgiving and made the task achievable.) I trimmed the tails into the forked shape with some paper snips.  After adhering the banner to my card base, I stamped my sentiment above and below the banner.

Thanks for stopping by!

Details - Stamps: Dragonfly Dreams (SU); Paper: Whisper White (SU); Ink: Smoky Slate (SU); Accessories: Washi Tape, Oyster Baker's Twine (TCP), Linen & Canvas impression plate (PTI), paper snips, liquid glue, Recollection heart gem.

He Is Risen - Flourishes lc March/April Release

Today is Day 4 of the Flourishes lc March/April release.  I am featuring the set called He Is Risen.
This is such a beautiful set!  I love the large cross in it, but opted for the smaller cross because it worked better here.  I think this set will make the most elegant cards. Embossing really ramps up elegance, so that is what I did here!
Be sure to visit the other Friends of Flourishes design team members for more inspiration: DaviGloriaKrenShirleyToni (YOU ARE HERE) and Vickie.

My card also fits with a lovely challenge from Word Art Wednesday.

Details - Stamps: He Is Risen (Flourishes); Paper:Ivory(Flourishes), Metallic Gold, vellum; Ink: Versamark; Accessories: Gold embossing powder, heat tool, embossing foler, Spellbinders die, adhesive rhinestone, dimensional adhesive.
